GCCC, Air India win T20 matches

GUWAHATI, March 4 – In a thrilling match of the Airtel All India T20 Cricket tournament, organized by the Sports Club of Assam at the Nehru Stadium here this morning Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre (GCCC) edged out Cricket Association of Bengal by three runs while in the other match of the day Delhi outfit Air India defeated Gauhati Town Club by five wickets.

Batting first GCCC set a target of 157 for the Bengal team, which they failed to attain and were all out for 153 exactly in 20 overs despite a fighting 53 off 38 balls from Sudeep Chatterjee. Mrigen Talukdar top scored for the city team with 34 off 18 deliveries while Parag Das and Abhijit Singha Roy contributed 33 and 32 respectively.

In the second match Gauhati Town Club scored a moderate 120 in 20 overs and in reply the Delhi team hit the winning run in the 19.2 overs. The highlight of the Delhi innings was unbeaten 51 by Sachin Rana.
