GUWAHATI, March 3: The third day of the second Santosh Roy All India T-20 Cricket Tournament belonged to outstation teams as both FCI and RS Academy registered wins against their opponents in the quarter final league match held at the Nehru Stadium here today. In the first match of the day, FCI defeated Radial Club of Nagaon by five wickets while in the second game, RS Academy won against Bud Cricket Club by seven runs. Invited to bat first, Radial Club piled up 130 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Captain Dhiraj Goswami was the top scorer for the team who scored 33 runs with the help of two boundaries and two sixes.
In reply, riding on a fine knock from Rajinder Bisht (51) who scored the only half century in the match, FCI reached the target losing five wickets. Bichitra Baruah picked up four wickets for 23 runs. The second match of the day was well-contested and Bud Cricket Club was very much in the game till the 15th over but lost too many wickets thereafter. Electing to bat first, RS Academy scored 134 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Amit Yadav scored 40 in the innings which was the individual best for the visiting team. Krishna Das (4-19) tried his best but he didn’t get too much support from the other side. Bud Cricket Club fell short for seven runs as they managed to score 127 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Amandeep Sonkar claimed four wickets for 13 runs.
