Panaji: The Mumbai Indians were the only team other than the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL auction on Friday to pick up three players and owner Nita Ambani said her had been achieved.
"Last year we lost the first four games and then I started attending every match. I was travelling with the team and I learnt it the hard way. Hopefully by getting the three players we got today, we have a more balanced team. Also we have done trading, so we have Zaheer and Shikhar Shawan in our team," said Nita Ambani.
"We wanted to have a batsman, another middle order batsman and a bowler; so we have achieved all this and we wanted to have people who will be with us for the full season because last year we had a problem," Ambani added.
Rajasthan Royals' co-owner Shilpa Shetty candidly admitted she left all the key decisions to those who understood the business of cricket. And now that the auction is done and dusted, she is waiting for the action to get started.
"It's a learning curve and I have to learn a lot. But I learnt a lot on the whole strategy bit. We were given a certain budget and we just had two slots; so we are very happy with the players we have picked up," said Shetty.
Shetty also said she was happy with the Royals' picks on Friday and they have a balanced team even without last season's man of the series Sohail Tanveer.
